Tomas: Here is an idea for you: http://www.acm.org/crossroads/xrds2-4/voting.html Basically we could set up our own elections for Cuba independent of the regime. What do you think?

Well jump in and start getting us the connections we will need to carry that out: like independent panels that have nothing to do with us cubans and that have nothing to do with the US gov, for credibility factors these panels will validate voters by use of lets say notarized copies of birth certificates, they will e-mail back the applicants with coded election day identifiers for computer votes during the elections, a web site would have to be set up for the parties and their platforms, for the sake of tru democracy we invite the regime to participate too (they will be utterly ridiculed by the results if they do), the independent panel will announce the results fo the elections, the junta cannot control any of that (even their fraud constitution today allows for exiles and non residents voting since they never contemplated the internet) and even if they say the voters are mercenaries etc they will be discredited if we secure a truly independent process above reproach, the weight of 100s of thousands of votes for opposition candidates will be something they or whoever steps in to negociate will have to be reckoned with, even if corporate megabanks attempt tp make a slave China out of Cuba by dealing with the regime and their succesors they will have to accepyt that weight of those votes, those are numbers we do not have today!!! this process could take more than ayear since ample time must be allowed for the parties to assemnble and present their platforms in addition to coordinating island support since as many votes as we can get from thre will be necessary in addition to out side votes, you by virtue of your granddad will be granted honorary voting rights....

Also Tomas, your blog and your name are needed for that effort, my advise is forget about mac and paul and hill, that is all done, turn your blog into the Cuba electronic election effort, lets shove up the junta's rear end!!!!

The Republican race will sort itself out. Still, I have to tell Cubans what they need to hear rather than what they'd prefer to hear. Always the truth. But I have been mulling around doing something of this sort for a while but was not sure what is the best approach. I'm excited about this mini youth rebellion on campus in Cuba and Alarcon getting dressed down. So this would be a good time to forward the idea of organizing elections in Cuba. Lets move forward amigos!

The internet is our weapon, they are old stalinists who can't handle it, we can aweep the floor with them if we get going on the elections idea for the world to see. We can even tell them what we are going to do, openly and they cannot do anything about it other than throw vile.
