Let entrepreneurs into Cuba, keep the tax low and watch the economic explosion happen. Whenever there are more jobs than workers the wages and benefits are driven upward. That's because entrepreneurs compete for a limited supply of workers. Those who lose the competition will not be as successful because they can't grow without more laborers. Finally, the first modern society on the planet will be populated by people who are neither slaves to the pharaohs of industry nor government. Cuban workers will have the best job security in the world!

I had the opportunity to speak to someone who is here from Cuba today. I asked her if she thought Castro was alive. Her response was that people don't even mention Fidel any more and she suspects as most do that he died probably about 7 to 8 months ago... She also told me things are much WORSE on the island because Raul Castro has decided to prosecute black marketeers and those who buy from the marketeers thereby causing more scarcity. Seems like he can't keep squeezing the folks any more than they already have, but they always seem to find a way. God help them.

I've been monitoring some of the news out of Cuba. It is really desperate for sure. I believe everything must be razed, cleansed and rebuilt with completely new infrastructure. We can do it! But first the thieves must go to make ownership of one's labor in Cuba legal. In five years we would be giving aid to the US the way America is going now.
You have a great Thanksgiving as well.

Thanks Augustine and I hope things improve drastically for you in the near future. As for Sean Penn I never get mad at guys like him for he is a dupe ans as such a victim. I save my scorn for the shills who lie to the dupes.
Tomás, Sean grew up being indoctrinated by his father, an avowed communist who openly supported the now defunct USSR, that Sean has not had the human decency to learn about the evils of communism and expose them for what they are, clearly indicate that he too is a shill, he is very well aware of such evils but considers them necessary means to an end, aka, the end justifies the means. Don't allow your good hearted nature to warp your usually brilliant ability to discern the obvious from the subtle, criminals like Sean Penn are just as guilty as the executioners that have plagued humanity since the birth of Marxism in the 19th century, we have an adage in Cuba that goes:
Tanta culpa tiene el que mata la vaca como el que le amarra la pata.
Literally translated it means that equal guilt goes to he who kills a cow as to he who ties its legs down.
Loosely interpreted it means that he who holds (ties up) the cow (for slaughter) is as guilty as its butcher.
William Ayers, his wife Bernardine Dorn and their Weather Underground cohorts had no problem whatsoever with the estimate of 25 million Americans having to be executed if their movement's goals of rising to power in the USA during the 1960s had been successful, at the time that figure represented 10% of the population of the country, which they had estimated would had refused to be "re-educated", Sean Penn is a shill and sooner or later his day will come to face justice for his complicity in and with the murderous ideology known as communism by its many names.
According to that former KGB agent. true believer in Marxism like Sean will be the first executed once the takeover is complete.
So he is a dupe and I can't waste my time on him.
