The Recession & Cuba
The approaching recession will be bad for many Americans but it will be a nightmare for the Cuban regime and their failing economic system. This recession will be worldwide and greatly affect disposable income levels and therefore the tourist industry. People will vacation close to home or not even at all. Combine this with the fact that the Cuban regime has screwed lots of its recent customers with bait and switch vacations that turn into nightmares and you have killed Cuba as a tourist destination. The few who still dare go to Cuba will be victims of desperate starving Cubans.
Then there's the decline in oil consumption as the recession dampens world demand. Hugo Chavez will probably not even survive in Venezuela due to this sharp decline in oil revenue. He's not going to be able to give oil to Cuba which means the lights go out. You don't want to be connected to the regime with millions of angry Cubans living nearby - in the dark. Burn baby burn.

I love your messages to the resistance, keep those up am sure someone in Cuba is watching and will benefit from it.
By the way, I see you love to work on cars, I have an 85 mercedes that needs work, want to work on it?
Is it a diesel or gasoline? What's the trouble with it Vana?
Tomas:
Is gas, I have no idea what's wrong with it, lots of things, and it won't pass smog check
How many miles on it? Does it run at all? If so does is miss fire? How old is the gasoline in the car if it's been sitting long?
LOL lots of miles, 98 thousand, it really should be trashed, but my hubby claims he heard somewhere it was a collectors item, because it is a 190E, go figure, yes it has been sitting long, but it does start, hubby starts it from time to time
Vana!!!!
Stop starting that car! Probably the only thing wrong with it is the gas. In the olden days when you bought gas you bought gas. But now the government make refiners put all kinds of crap into gas supposedly for the environment but really to make the refiners money. But it goes bad after several months unless you put stabilizer into it. Gunks up the valves and ruins the engine. Drain the gas from the gas line running along the driver side at the bottom. Then put fresh gas into it with stabilizer then try to start it.

Thank you Tomas, I wasn't aware that gas got old, I will tell hubby to do as you say, thanks for your help, didn't even know you could buy stabilizers for gas, again I must commend you, you are a great mechanic
Anything which appears wise are examples of where I was laid low from a bad experience. For example, with the bad gas it cost me a good 1972 Mustang engine. Ran great for 2 minutes until the gas gunk glued the valves shut bending a couple push rods. In fact my boat has been sitting for a couple years and has stabilizer in the gas but I'll still drain it and put fresh stuff in. Once bitten twice shy you know?
